SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Ben Druck Door Company is currently seeking experienced commercial door and loading dock technicians based out of our York, PA office.  This career position will be responsible for assembly and installation of Commercial-Industrial doors, coiling doors and loading dock equipment with the intent to become a lead man. The applicant will complete training and become responsible for a truck/crew and install crew. This is a full time hourly position.

TYPICAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Use and/or assist with instruments for precise installation
  • Perform and/or supervise installation and service
  • Non CDL truck driving
  • Foreman will be expected to professionally communicate and interface with our clients
  • Monitor safety and daily work activity
  • Attend weekly progress meetings with the president

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or GED is required
  • 2-4 years of experience in commercial construction is preferred.
  • Ability to pass DOT pre-employment physical and drug/alcohol screening
  • Understanding construction drawings is required
  • Must be familiar with all means of fastening, attachment, light steel fabricatrion……
  • Current driver’s license is required with ability to tow equipment and material trailers
  • Must be familiar with or willing to learn OSHA and MSHA safety regulations
  • Willingness to multi task and strong communication skills are required
  • Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds from ground level to waist level and up to 30 pounds to above shoulder level throughout a scheduled work shift
  • Must be able to climb ladders
  • Must be able to bend, squat, kneel and crawl
  • Must be able to work outdoors in wet, muddy, cold, hot and humid weather
  • Must be willing to use safety equipment
  • Must be able to use power tools and fastening systems
  • Ability for light fabrication and modification of products
  • Continuous standing and walking required throughout a scheduled work shift
  • Acceptable/corrected vision and acceptable/corrected hearing required
  • The applicant must be able to work with and lead others.
  • The amount of training required to learn our scope of work and step into a lead position is dependent upon the applicant.
  • You will be trained in safe working practices on all terrain forklifts, scissors lifts, service truck and trailer driving as well as personal protection from falls and environment.
  • Our work includes military, government and institutional projects with prevailing wage rates.
  • We currently employ the best technicians in this trade, and they tackle the most challenging projects.
  • Salary: $20-$30 pr hr first 40 hours. Then 1.5x after 40 hours
